ABOUT MTTY

MTTYis the alter-ego of Sydney selector and producer Mitch Trueman, known for fusing UK-inspired bass, jagged breaks and fast, percussive techno into his unmistakable late-night signature. Cutting his teeth on pirate-radio streams during lockdown, he quickly graduated to club floors—earning recurring slots at Club 77, Tokyo Sing Song and the underground warehouse series Oscill8. MTTY’s sets are a study in controlled chaos: rubber-band sub-lines, razor-edged drums and vocal shards stitched together at 135–145 BPM. A crate-digger at heart, he stacks classic UKG acapellas against contemporary rave tools, pushing the dance-floor into a sweat-soaked, forward-leaning zone. In the studio, MTTY channels that same momentum—most recently on “Dial Tone” (self-released, 2024), a hybrid of 2-step shuffle and cavernous Reese bass championed by local tastemakers at FBi Radio. With a run of unsigned dubplates already doing damage in his own sets and an EP slated for winter, MTTY is poised to become a fixture in Australia’s new-wave club circuit. Expect high-octane blends, zero filler and plenty of low-end pressure every time he steps behind the decks.
